In 2015 being enrolled at the Russian State Gnesin Music Academy, Julia successfully auditioned for the Academic Band led by Anatoliy Krall - famous Russian pianist, composer and band leader, the member of the UNESCO.
With the big band she went on tours, participated in jazz festivals, collaborated with famous Russian artists such as Alsu (Eurovision 2000 2nd prize winner), Larisa Dolina, Arkady Shilkloper, David Gazarov, Sergei Zhilin, Peter Vostokov, Igor Butman, Valeri Grokhovskiy and others.
The band performed a broad repertoire which encompassed early jazz styles pieces as well as the modern ones, it also included compositions created at the junction of various genres as, for example, jazz arrangements of classical artworks. |
